Measurements of British Standard Frames
Top bars are
17" long (15½" for Smith) and 11/16"
deep, with wedge
T1 are 7/8" wide; T2
are 11/16" wide, with 7/8" wide lugs.
Side bars are 3/8" thick with 1/8"
grooves. For brood chambers (DN1,2,4,5) sides are 8½" long; for supers (SN1,2,4,5,7)
sides are 5½" long.
S1 are 7/8" wide and 8½" long; S2 are 11/16" wide (13/8" at top) and 8½" long; S3 and S4 are identical
to S1 and S2, but 5½" long; S5 are
15/8" wide and 5½" long.
Bottom bars are
14" long and 5/16"in height; B1 are ¼" wide; B2 are 15/32" wide, reduced to ¼" at the ends; "one
piece" bars are 11/16" wide, with
rebates at each end to fit sides.
