Enjoy a memorable day learning about and working with honeybees

A one-day course specifically designed for those with little or no previous knowledge of bees or beekeeping.

See how the honeybee lives and works, and find out about the management of a colony of bees and the harvesting of their honey.

This course is ideal for people who are considering keeping bees but are uncertain of what is involved, or who would like some hands-on experience before they embark on a longer course.  But if you just want to know a bit more about bees, there will still be plenty to interest you.

The course is led by Sue Scott, a local beekeeper, and will include practical sessions at our apiary as well as informal talks at Stamfordham Village Hall.

All necessary protective clothing is provided; the cost of the day includes tea, coffee and a sandwich lunch.  We regret that we cannot offer the course to young people under 16.

For more information, please email us.  We are offering the course on Saturdays 10th May, 31st May, 21st June, 12th July and 26th July 2008.  The cost is £75.00 per person, or £125.00 for two people who book at the same time.  For 16-18 year olds the cost is £40.00.  We regret that we cannot accept bookings for young people under 16.
